The S5 Purity Serum aims to control breakouts, reduce appearance of blemishes and pores, so no surprise I was very keen to try it.
I really like a good serum, especially as my skin doesn’t take rich moisturisers very well, so sticking with a light moisturisers plus a serum at night, gives me the much need hydration my skin needs.
This serum smells very fresh, is quite thick, milky beige in colour and applies great on skin, absorbing very quickly. In the period I’ve been using it (about a month), I noticed that first of all, skin fells really nice – fresh and clearer.
Dark blemishes seem to fade a bit quicker, overall skin texture has improved and even though my acne breakouts are still happening, small blemishes have diminished in quantity.
Overall, this is a very welcome addition to my routine. I felt that whereas it didn’t vanish my acne and blemishes (really, at this point I know there are no miracles!), I felt it improved my skin, even if slightly, for me is very important.
This serum, as other S5 products, counts on rainforest bioactives to work; in the S5 Purity Serum, it is picão preto, which targets blemish and sebum reduction, alpine epilobium fleisheri targeting oil production reduction and salicylic acid equivalent (from willow bark), which is antibacterial and boosts cellular renewal – a concoction perfect for oily and acne prone skins.
The price for me, is a bit steep at £44, but it is worth noting that it really goes a long way; I use about 1/2 a pipette for face and neck.
You can get the S5 Purity Serum from the S5 website and in the UK from Selfridges, Planet Organics, Naturismo, Beauty Bay, Love Lula, amongst others. It is also available around the world.
The product is certified organic and 99.65% natural, as well as allergen free. S5 is the first organic certified cosmeceuticals range created especially to target concerns like blemishes, dryness, pigmentation, ageing by relying on nature’s ecosystems, without using aggressive chemicals – well worth looking at their range.
This post contains PR samples. This review, however, is based on my experience with the product and reflects my honest opinion on them.
I’m trying to change all my skincare in my routine to organic products and this looks so lovely. I have quite blemish prone skin and something that lowers the amount of small breakouts sounds lovely. Great review!
