Product review: Colgate Max White One Optic

Colgate Max White One Optic promises to give you an instant brightening effect so you can flash your pearly whites without worrying about a thing.

This toothpaste uses an optical brightener; basically, blue particles that will reflect light in a way to make your teeth look whiter.

Anything claiming to offer instant brightening from the first use, deserves a second look. I must say, the effect on the first use were really minimal; I could see a tiny bit of brightening, but didn’t blow me away.

However, the toothpaste also promises to gradually brighten up teeth, so I started to notice the brightening effect a bit more after a few uses.

It tastes nice and produces a very blue thick foam, with some gritty feeling to it.

Overall, a nice product and alright for a subtle quick fix, and I also like that, in addition to the temporary effect, the tooth paras also has some gradual brightening agents. It’s also worth bearing in mind my teeth were not too yellow to start with.

The Colgate Max White One Optic can be bought from Boots, Superdrug and other major retailers, costing £4.49 and Boots currently has it on a great half price offer!
