My love of glitter flakes is never ending… sometimes it goes away for a while, but it is guaranteed to return.
I found this beautiful Ricky Color in Fire Island Ferry nail polish in Miami and had to buy. It was only $4 and it is soooo saturated with the beautiful opalescent mylar flakes that is unbelievable. There are different sizes flakes and the shapes are irregular.
On top of a dark colour, in this case the gorgeous Collection Blue My Mind, this just comes alive… so many colours can be seen, it’s magical.
Because of the amount of flakes in the clear suspension base, the polish is quite thick and one coat is more than enough.
Be careful that, when applying that there are no flakes hanging from the tip of the nails as these will dry like that and be prone to peeling pretty quickly – I just poked the stragglers back in!
Loved the effect and went perfectly with the outfit I wore for a wedding.

Coming up with nail polish names must be the best job. Blue my mind cracks me up.
OMG, I know! I think about that every time a nail polish name makes me smile, hahahahaha
I love a flaky!
