Eucerin DermoPurifyer: Tackling blemishes one product at a time

eucerin-dermopure-review - 1Difficult. That’s how I’d describe my skin on the best of days. It’s rarely happy – it’s always either dryness, sensitivity or breakouts.
When I was introduced to the Eucerin DermoPurifyier range I was really excited to see how it would treat my skin, as its formulated to care for skin which is being treated for acne.
Always worth remembering that Eucerin caters for sensitive skin, a reassurance for me.
That might not mean a lot you never got treated for acne. Treatments are usually really harsh and stripping; most non-comedogenic, oil free products do not nourish the skin properly.
The result is angry, flaky skin which is far from ideal.
I had a fab skin analysis with Eucerin and they got me a whole new routine to tackle my concerns.
eucerin-dermopure-review - 6Very mild and gentle on the skin, the Dermo Purifyer Clenaser does not contain soap or fragrances. It lathers well and does a great job removing makeup.
eucerin-dermopure-review - 5The Toner is slightly exfoliating with lactic acidd and it’s not drying. Skin feels comfortable and fresh after use.
eucerin-dermopure-review - 2The Adjunctive Hydrating Care day moisturiser is a star. With SPF30, it feels thicker than my usual, but is well absorbed by skin and behaves very well under makeup.
It contains licorice extract, an anti-inflammatory, carnitine, which helps reduce sebum and moisturising decandiol.
eucerin-dermopure-review - 4The Active Night Care moisturiser has extra strong ingredients to work while you rest and feels good on the skin. I wake up fresh and plumped.
The lactic acid works to exfoliate and moisturise at the same time.
eucerin-dermopure-review - 3For those extra stubborn spots, the Active Concentrate gel, also very mild and not tingling, contains lactic acid and decandiol and can be used many times a day.
eucerin-dermopure-review - 7Finally, for a more deep cleanse, there is the Scrub, which is not too abrasive but has a good grit to it. It also contains lactic acid and pore-refining particles that get deeper into pores.
Overall my skin welcomed the regime. Extra props for the toner, which is also helping me with pigmentation (I suffer from dark hormonal spots during the summer) and uneven skin tone.
In the few weeks I’ve been using it, the spot is visibly lighter.
You can read all about the range at the Eucerin website, and you can get them from retailers around the country, including Boots and Superdrug.

Fighting adult acne and ageing signs with SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense solution

skinceauticals_belmish_antiage_defense_review - 1Wow, 2016 sees really to be about skincare! Acne, as most of you know, has been the bane of my life for a very longtime. So long that at this point my main concern should be ageing signs and not spots.
Caught between preventing ageing signs and fighting blemishes, there is very little on the market that will cover both aspects of my skincare needs, furthermore, one usually aggravates the other, as anti-acne products are extremely drying and aggressive, and anti-ageing products are usually quite rich.
Imagine my happiness when I came across the SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense Potent Treatment solution at Dermacare Direct. Sounded perfect!
This product is a clear solution, very slightly viscous, which is oil-free and contains salicylic (1.5%) and salicylic capryloyl (0.3%), dioic (2%), glycolic (3.5%) and citric (0.5%) acids. It’s the first to market to have dioic plus alpha and beta hydroxy acids in its formulation, to fight blemishes and fine lines and uneven skin tone and texture.
It applies and absorbs very well. The feeling is slightly tingly when you apply, but only for a few seconds.
There was no redness, no irritation and better still, no dryness, of any sort. Prolonged use did cause my lips to chap more than usual this winter, as I apply on the chin, where my blemishes are, twice a day, but that is expected with any acid products.
I’ve been using at night on the whole face and day on the problem areas only (mainly chin) and noticed an improvement, not only in blemishes but skin in general, mainly tone and radiance.
Using now over a few weeks, I can now notice an overall improvement. I feel it does target all the promised areas.
skinceauticals_belmish_antiage_defense_review - 2I’ve been using this product in conjunction with the SkinCeauticals B5 solution for extra moisturisation, as my skin suffers at this time of the year, plus other serums and moisturisers in my skincare routine.
Overall impressed. I had never tried SkinCeauticals before, but heard great things. This certainly lived up to the reputation of the brand and more.
I am already panicking when it gets to the end, but I have to say it is worth the price tag.
Dermacare Direct is an online cosmeceuticals company that stocks the best brands on the market. They also have the lovely Andrea, a cosmetic nurse, who is qualified to give the best, honest advice when picking your skincare to best suit your needs. Plus, she is super lovely!
You can get the SkinCeauticals Blemish + Age Defense for £64 for 30ml from Dermacare Direct.
They so stock other SkinCeauticals lines and various other cosmeceautical brands at great prices!

Review: S5 Balance Fluid

S5 balance fluid

One of the brands I discovered in 2014 was S5 Skincare, which creates organic cosmeceuticals. Now that I’ve tried another product, I am truly sold.

The  S5 Balance Fluid is a face moisturiser that has anti-ageing properties as well as anti-blemish ones, which for me, is the perfect combination.
