It is no secret I feel more in my element over spring/summer. Although I like the elegance the winter brings, nothing beats a happy, floaty summer outfit.
Although I have been thinking about it for a while now, with the weather improvement (touch wood I won’t jinx it), I felt more inspired to dress up for the warmer seasons, and that’s what I am looking for:
A lot of pink. Probably not pastel (ok, maybe a little bit), but all the other shades – and a variety of them. I’ve bought myself a full circle midi bubblegum pink skirt. It looks like we will be taking girliness to the next level.
Chartreuse yellow. Bold. Oh yeah. Chartreuse is the shocking shade of the summer. Get ready to see it flash! I am also leaning towards emerald greens and oranges.
Coordinates, in a skirt and crop top combo, ideally on flowery patterns. In fact I’ve been looking for them since last summer, and for this one the promise is huge! Not discarding trousers and loose crop tops. The above is from Miss Selfridge, I’ve been checking the site not to miss when it is available. Poppy Lux have some cute ones coming next month (April) too.
Cut-outs. I, somehow, fell in love with cut outs. I am quite picky about them though. I need to try it on and make sure it doesn’t look too trashy – you know what I mean!
Plenty of pastels. Especially pastel heels – I am sure I don’t need to elaborate more…. But here we go: thing pretty courts.
A few metallic pieces – maybe a skirt, a top or a pair of courts. Just as a details.
Dainty frilly socks with my courts. I just love the look. Very feminine with a full midi-skirt, with that vintage look.
General girliness/feminine shapes – pencil skirts, pretty blouses, full skirts, delicate heels, you name, I’m all over it. Burberry nailed the colours and shapes for SS14 – it makes think about that amazing Chanel SS12 merry-go-round pastel, lacey feast. In love all over again with being a girl, after the tougher tartans of winter.
I finally acquired a pair of ripped jeans I had been after for about four months! I wanted something that fits nice (not a total sac that are bf jeans, they just don’t suit my body shape) and very affordable, after all, I paid a lot for ripped jeans back in the early 00’s. I got a nice enough pair from Forever 21, for just under £23.
I also bought a pretty pink coat, which is boyfriend blazer cut and fluffy. Love it as I reached the point I couldn’t look at my winter coats anymore. This is keeping me warm and happy. It’s from new Look, £55.
In addition to that, I got a pair of low heel nude pointy toes court shoes from New Look, to live in the office. They were a bargainous £15 and are wide fit, which makes them extra comfy!
I cannot wait for spring/summer. Should be a pretty one!
What are you lusting over for the new season?
Amazing
