I hadn’t worked on an eye makeup for a very long time, so the arrival of the beautiful new eye colours from the Lola Makeup Spirited Away collection was the right excuse to get me going!
For this look, which was inspired in one created to promote the collection, I used the Lola satin eyeshadows 034 – a shimmery gold – 035 – a shimmery baby blue and 045 – a shimmery terracota.
The Lola eyeshadows blend like butter and have good pigmentation. All of the colours above have beautiful iridescent shimmer particles that reflect light beautifully.
I also used a matte Lola eyeshadow, 029 – a nude beige – as a base all over the lid, applied with a shadow applicator.
Then using a firm round applicator brush, I applied terracota in random spots. I followed with blue then added the gold, filing the gaps and blending them all in, from the lash line to the eyebrow.
I lined my eyes with the amazing Lola automatic eye pencil in the brand new colour 005, Jade Green.
This eyeliner is fantastic; glides very smoothly, has great pigmentation and the colour has fantastic dimension; the rich green has some light reflecting gold particles, which makes is really pretty. The staying power on this eyeliner is great too!
I used on the bottom lash line and top, pulling a long flick at the end.
I finished off by saturating the colours a bit more with a pencil brush and also adding some colour to the outer line of the flick. Then I applied a set of false eyelashes.
And for the sake of it, I lined my brows green too, just because I could.
It took me about 10 minutes to do! As I mentioned before, all my eye looks are quite experimental; I make them an opportunity to play with different ideas and techniques – it is like a big practice of the weird and wonderful!
What I used:
