In a way, writing about coat saddens and excites me in equal measure, as the winter is absolutely not my favourite time of the year – but the prospect of a new coat is, well, rather exciting.
As an imminent necessity that is going to be with you for a very long time *sigh*, you might as well just love the one you have, and wear it with gusto.
Last winter, I went for girly, vintage inspired coats – pea collars, marked at the waist, flare skirt and all…
This season, what I am looking out for is faux-fur. No news here I am a huge faux-fur fan, so no surprises this is at the top of my list. It helps that it is quite trendy, so there we are spoilt for choice! Hooray!
Here are a few I really like and are available to buy NOW:
From River Island, this lovely silver long pile coat – shaggy and multitonal – will keep you snug for £90!
ASOS have quite a few I fancy, starting with this vintage faux-fur coat in two colours, grey and camel, at an affordable £70. LOVE.
They also have this cotton-candy pink jacket from The Laden Showroom X Gemma Goldstone, going bright and bold – come on, it is FUN! For a £120, it also comes in Lilac. Pretty!
If you think the above is way is too fluffy, abuse the winter pastel trend with sober approach and wear this River Island light pink oversized coat (£100).
This black and white Motel Harley faux fur jacket, priced at £79, is oversized and with a rounded collar. Lovely.
The Aimee coat from Boohoo is a cute shaggy style that comes in two colours: black and cream. Glamour with a relaxed edge, at only £40.
At House of Fraser, you can find a vast selection of faux-fur coats, but this Biba Leopard Portobello coat, just… phwoar. Love it. A bit more expensive, at £199, but I am sure every single spot is worth it. They also do it in plain black.
And still on the leopard coat subject, New Look has a £54.99 version of it.
I also like this Jane Normal tipped fur coat, at £70 also from House of Fraser.
I love Miss Selfridge’s coats, and in the fur department, this season, they are not disappoint – look at this lovely beige shawl collar coat, at £99.
Topshop has this cute faux-shearling jacket that is a staple for any wardrobe. Comes in black and cream and costs £75.
Crazy for ombré? Fear not: M&S brings this great oversized ombré coat, going from white to black , with a nice wind-defeating collar, and it costs £95.
I actually spotted this gorgeous Little Mistress coat at the Pure London Show this year and loved it – even posted on the blog! – so here it is – maybe I should buy it, the price is inviting, at £50! The only minus is that is cropped sleeves, so not very heavy winter friendly :(.
Looking for a colour splash? Look at this striking electric blue number from Little White Lies at Next (£175)… show stopping! Also a 3/4 sleeve.
Wow, I think I could go for ages!!! There are so many more great coats out there…
What about you? Have you seen any coats (fur or not) that tickled your fancy this year?
