The Christmas jumper edition 2016

I’ve been a total bah-humbug this season; I love Christmas but many factors in my life this year somehow don’t make me feel like being suuuuuper festive.

Yeah, well done universe from stripping the Christmas spirit from one of the biggest Christmas lover.

Having said that, I cannot resist a good Xmas jumper, so here is my selection, just in time for the last leg of office parties and of course, Christmas jumper day, the 16th December.

primark-treePrimark always delivers on the Christmas jumper (and great price tag) front. Although there are many great ones (even a little santa/elf dress), I have to go for this little black jumper. With a Christmas tree. WHICH LIGHTS UP. £16.

topshopTopshop keeps it stylish with this pretty metallic star jumper which won’t look out of place after Christmas. £55.

missguidedI love a naughty jumper and Missguided always have one. This is £18.

The selection at Boohoo is fabulous – from naughty to nice and going through the quirky, I could not just pick one – so here is this adorable reindeer (£15), the loved up emoji (£12) and Festive AF (£15).

asos-kissA few cute ones over at ASOS, including pretty pastel plus size ones. My pick goes to the mistletoe (£18 on sale).

nextIf you are looking for classy Xmas jumpers, head to next; I picked this Christmas pudding (£26) one, which is just too adorable!

river-islandTalking about classy ones, how about this polar bear (£25) number from River Island in non-christmassy black grey and pink? So cute!

F&F for Tesco has jumpers for the whole family, and the prices are good too. My pick? This #Elfie (£14) that comes with a headband, pointy ears and all. Had to be done.

matalanLove? I’ll have my share in wine, thank you very much. Matalan (£15) said it!

peacocksThis Peacocks number is telling us exactly what we want to hear: calories don’t count at Christmas (£22). It is a long line jumper so can double up as a dress.

And conceal the bulge from the multiples Xmas meals and drinks. Just saying.

amazonI could not resist adding this pretty nerdy fox one from Whispering Smith & Bravesoul at Amazon (£18.50-20).

newlookAlso too cute too pass is this loved up reindeer jumper from New Look (14.99). Everyone: aaaaaw <3.

asdaFinally, George at Asda has come up with this sparkly fairy festive jumper (£12). So popular that is only available is larger sizes now, but I would probably buy and wear oversized!

Personally, although the options are very lovely, I think last year’s Christmas jumper game was stronger….

What about you? Found any Xmas jumper you love?

Dani’s Little Book of Fashion: LFW, baby!

lfw_comb - 6This season was a weird one for me. With so much going on in my personal life, I decided to skip LFW AW16 altogether.

lfw_comb - 7I didn’t apply for accreditations, I didn’t request tickets, I didn’t RSVP to the ones I received. Life had been too crazy (and sad – which also justifies the lateness in posting this; I might or not write about it at some point) to fashion week.

I was just to ignore my FOMO and skip it altogether. Enter The Apartment and fabulous blogger Banké to change my mind.

lfw_comb - 3So I picked a day. Had the best time at The LFW Apartment, the brainchild of amazing Abisola (or AbiMarvel, as she is known online), the space if just fantastic. A haven for bloggers to hang out, rest, work and meet brands and other alike.

I can never thank them enough for having me – I got a wonderful blow dry by Mark Hill, stunning nails from Elegant Touch, discovered skincare brad Skin & Tonic London, the beautiful Caravelle NY watches, stationery wonderland kikki.K, got to know more of Urban Outfitter’s home products and was fed wonders from Aubaine, Sugartables London, Starbucks, Voss water, Zeo, Krispy Kreme and Take Eat Easy (which delivered amazing food!).

lfw_comb - 2And this time they have the great guys from Comb (a super cool photo search shopping app) taking lovely street style pictures of us – just book a session and, well, the result speaks for itself.

I took the cat theme (my beloved black Persian Thomas passed away recently, so that was my way of having him round) and ran with it.

The white cat collar shirt is from Miss Patina. I added a simple salopette dress from boohoo, tights from New Look, a cat-ear bowler hat from H&M, Christian Louboutin Pigalle shoes with a satin ribbon around the ankles and topped it off with my Chanel handbag.

Hair was worn down and blue “lipstick” is in fact GloRay eyeliner in Sky Breaker. Nails from Elegant Touch (Hall of Mirrors, the prettiest thing EVER).

lfw_comb - 1For walking around, I wore my trusty Zara boy-ish shoes. I dread the day they are no longer suitable to wear!

Next season I will put all the effort into it. I hope! Until September!

My pick of Christmas jumpers

christmas_jumper_selectionOnly recently the air started smelling like Christmas. This is a weird time of the year for me. I love Christmas, but I grew up having tropical Christmas: super hot with thunderstorms. And I miss my family.

Thirteen years on, I find comfort in the smell that winter brings, that cold air that fills your lungs and announces that my favourite time of the year is coming.

It’s December and we are allowed. Grab your mulled wine, create a Christmas playlist on Spotify and cosy up with one of my picks of Christmas jumpers, also handy to dazzle at that Christmas lunch, Jumper Day at the office or just putting your tree up!

missguided_xmas_jumperShake your tinsel, Missguided, £22

My kind of Christmas jumper. Off the shoulder: check. Cheeky message: check. Worn as a dress: check.

What’s not to like? And of you are looking for cheeky, sexy jumper, Missguided is the place to find them – their selection is fab.

asos_xmas_jumperHappy Pug-Mas, ASOS, £20

This Missguided jumper is perfect for dog lovers. Cute.

boohoo_cat_xmas_jumperElla Meowy, Boohoo, £15

Now for cat lovers. with this one, you are guaranteed a happy Cat-mas (sorry!).

asos_vintage_xmas_jumperVintage ski pattern, ASOS, £38

I love the vintage pattern on this jumper. Discreet and rather elegant, is perfect for the more demure Xmas jumper wearer.

boohoo_reindeer_xmas_jumperReindeer, Boohoo, £15

More traditional with Rudolph and a bobble red nose. Also available in black and navy.

primark_robin_xmas_jumperRobin, Primark, £12

A cute seasonal robin with super fluffy wings. What’s not to love?

topshop_cracker_xmas_jumperCracker, Topshop, £38

I love this sparkly sequin explosive cracker.

peacocks_reindeer_xmas_jumperReindeer, Peacocks, £18 (now £14.40)

Another reindeer, but this one lights up! The Christmas lights tangled up on its antlers come on. And there is pattern on the back too, so there’s no mistake it’s a festive jumper!

hm_elfie_xmas_jumperElfie Selfie, H&M, £14.99

H&M went all out for Christmas, bringing no one less than Katy Perry to be their Christmas fairy. This lovely jumper is sold out online, but maybe you are lucky to find it in-store.

matalan_snowman_xmas_jumperSnowman, Matalan, £20

Became a snowgirl with this Matalan jumper. Complete with pink tie-up scarf, which is my favourite part of this one! Oh, it plays music too!

primark_gingerbread_xmas_jumperGingerbread man, Primark, £14

Very delicate, super wearable and only £14. Yes, Get it. Primark has a great affordable selection of festive jumpers, sweats and t-shirts.

matalan_elf_xmas_jumperElf, Matalan, £20

Your head becomes this lovely elf’s when you are wearing it. Plus, it is musical.

Christmas jumpers are bigger every year. There are so many around and there are lots of lovely ones I missed.

Have you find your for this season?

Happy Christmas!

What I’ve been wearing: 04/05/15

Wow, it’s been a long time since a post an outfit entry. Laziness. No other excuse. Oh, wait, there is… I always get so fed up with the winter that towards the end I cannot be bothered with the outfits anymore… it’s half not making an effort and the other half not finding them interesting anymore.

But as the new season begins (to try) to come… well…. fresh outfits are fun.

Here are some from the last few weeks (maybe months!):

Outfit #1

Trends: what I’ll be wearing for spring/summer 2015

ss151

The sun is teasing us – it is actually making appearances but the super chill in the air means my body is still in a wintery mood.

However, my mind is saying GO! to spring!

What I’ve been wearing – 18/02/15

I know, it has been soooo long since I posted an outfit entry. It is not that I’ve been walking around naked or been wearing track suit bottoms day in and day out – it’s more like a mix of lack of time to photograph and boredom with the winter wardrobe!

But now… winds are (I hope they are) changing…. and I feel excited about wardrobes again! Here is my latest selection:

Outfit #1

outfit 1 - somanylovelythings

Tomato red backless top from Boohoo, black pencil skirt from H&M, black court shoes from Christian Louboutin (Pigalle), belt and necklace from Primark, rings from Sobral, Primark and H&M. Bracelet tattoo from Paperself.

Having a Boohoo Christmas

boohooxmas

When Boohoo got in touch with a collaboration idea, I jumped to it; yes, I would love to how recreate an old Christmas snap.

It’s no news that I love Christmas and it would be great to get involved in a seasonal project with a brand I like and am very familiar with.

Handpicked 2014 Christmas jumpers selection

handpicked christmas jumpers

I must admit that it took me a while to warm up to Christmas jumpers – in Brazil, where Christmas is in late spring and it is usually boiling, there’s no surprise jumpers are not very popular…

However, given the amazing selection I have found in the past years, in 2013 I bought my first one, and loved wearing it.

AW14: The fur coat edit

coatsaw14

In a way, writing about coat saddens and excites me in equal measure, as the winter is absolutely not my favourite time of the year – but the prospect of a new coat is, well, rather exciting.

As an imminent necessity that is going to be with you for a very long time *sigh*, you might as well just love the one you have, and wear it with gusto.
