I will spare you of the usual talk about how amazing and important I think primers are and instead, I am going to explain why the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is my favourite one, ever.
This product is simply amazing: it delivers in every point you want ticked by a primer.
Upon application, skin feels very velvety and more even, in colour and texture. It absorbs quickly and also aids other product application as it creates such a smooth base.
The finish it delivers is outstanding – skin looks more even, brighter and more radiant than if I hadn’t primed with this gem, it does create a fantastic photo-finish.
It is also water-repellent, so it makes makeup more resistant to sweat. For that, holding power is also exceptional.
Its texture is great, very light and silky, and contains SPF 15 with mineral-derived sunscreens (Titanium and Zinc Oxide).
The Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is also free from parabens, fragrances, sulphates, nanoparticles, oil, phthalates, gluten, synthetic dyes and is also vegan-friendly and not tested on animals.
Now, nothing is perfect… this is quite pricey. So much I usually buy the handbag size every time, as I struggle to part with £52 for 30ml. The pictured smaller vial costs £20 for 10ml.
I wear other great primers on a daily basis, leaving the Veil for nights/days out or when I go on holidays.
In all honesty, I do think it is well worth its price tag.
You can get this amazing primer from Liberty, Space NK, John Lewis, Net-a-Porter and other retailers.

keep ing a bit far from primers as I’m suffering a few break outs, but this looks like my next thing to try in this category
This is mineral-based so tends to be less breakout-y! I have terrible skin, very breakout prone and this primer doesn’t seem to break my skin out. But I know how you feel – better stay away from everything until it goes away.
Well worth a try 🙂

I’d love to try this primer! I’ve been admiring Hourglass products from afar for a while now because of the price, but I may be convinced now to give it a go!
Their stuff is great. I had one of their mascaras and is also amazing. Every time I go to the counter they try stuff on me; their highlighters are amazing too.
You should definitely try – price is a very steep, I have to say, hence me always going for the tiny size, hehehe, but so worth it. In fact, the big one is also worth it, if I really think rationally about it.
It’s good they have the small bottle, so you can get that first to see how you like the product and if you think, like me, it’s something you can’t live without and worth investing.
Thanks for your comment and visit 😀
