I am very lucky to be a friend of dermalogica, a brand I’ve been a fan of for a while. Everything I try agrees with my skin, and their new hydrablur primer is no different.
Launching on the 1st February, this product is a primer with blurring and extra moisturising properties.
It is off-white in colour and has a thick-ish consistency, as most blur products. It comes in a tube and I love it has a “squeezer” so you get every single drop out!
It does spread ok, there is a bit of drag and a little does not go such a long way, but upon application, you can clearly see the blurring properties: skin is smooth, even and slightly mattified.
Makeup applies well on top and the finish is refined. It also sat well, with minima flaking throughout the work day.
It smooths pores, fine lines and small texture imperfections, prevents shine and keeps thirsty skin happy. Mine for once, feels super dry by the pm, and I felt this (with the moisture boost) really help.
Among the ingredients are H20Release complex of sodium hyaluronate, algin and trehalose (optimises hydration levels), abyssinian seed oil (smooth and tone), mattifiers, mushroom extract (pore size reduction), wu-zhu-yu fruit extract (radiance) and micro-encapsulated tint (for a neutral coverage).
Overall, this product delivers in its three promises and I am quite impressed.
It is really good to see skincare crossing over into makeup without losing its core proposition. I love to see a product working hard and tackling multiple concerns well.
The dermalogica HydraBlur is available from dermalogica shops, concessions and online, as well as from a variety of retailers, such as Liberty, from 1st February 2016.

Ole Henriksen is a brand I came across quite recently. I was very pleased to try a couple products and their ultimate lift eye gel did not disappoint.
The gel has a firm consistency in a the pot but melts well on the skin.
Full of goodness, it contains biopeptide el-6, which firms & restores elasticity; diminishes crows feet & wrinkles, hyaluronic acid, which plumps and creates long lasting moisture barrier, red micro algae, for instantly lift and tightening and calming, cooling and de-puffing cucumber extract.
I was a bit nervous about using this product at first. It is a professional grade microdermabrasion device for use at home.
This device has the vacuum suction and exfoliation action, similar to the ones in the facialists’ equipment.
After first use with the new disc, skin felt a tiny bit red, which faded by the morning.
Well, well, well… if you were to be caught in a sexy web… it would look just like this.
If you a heels lover like me, and especially if you live in London, you know how hard it is to navigate the streets and public transport in towering heels. The struggle is real.
The main problem is most of the ones I tried are pretty much disposable: flimsy and uncomfortable, a few wears and its paper thin sole is coming apart.
That’s why I was rather impressed with the Sinderella foldable ballet pumps.
Folding is easy and it folds to some 2.5cm (d) x 13cm (l) x 8cm (w). It comes in a pouch and with a carry back and my only complaint would be that bag is not big enough to fit my heels (I’m only size 4!) when I am wearing the pumps.
There is something about Benefit I canto quite gauge. I love their packaging, adore the name and the concept behind their products, see thousands of people who swear by them but nothing I tried seemed to quite work for me.
The formula is gel, in a watery brown colour, which is great and can be used on its own for a lighter, feathery and super defined look.

Many a times I said I’m not a fan of BB creams and other multi-function products.
Durability wise, it’s not amazing in the long haul (10 hours on a work day), so I wouldn’t say it will replace my foundation, but it’s perfect for less makeup days and speedy makeup. Because it is from the Effaclar range, not only does it make my skin look good, but it’s also looking after my blemish prone skin.
I must admit that I notice all benefits above, but mainly even tone, a slight radiance and better texture, which is quite amazing, bearing in mind it is one product.
Here I am again going on about how amazing Charlotte Tilbury makeup is.
The formula is a great glossy black and is not too wet, which is great for application control.
I am totally sold. Of course, it carries a premium-ish price tag, but worth every penny.
Wow, 2016 sees really to be about skincare! Acne, as most of you know, has been the bane of my life for a very longtime. So long that at this point my main concern should be ageing signs and not spots.
I’ve been using this product in conjunction with the SkinCeauticals B5 solution for extra moisturisation, as my skin suffers at this time of the year, plus other serums and moisturisers in my skincare routine.
This time of the year is tough on my skin. I usually keep a small arsenal of gentle exfoliating products, from peels and exfoliating toners to microdermabrasion devices but the extra dryness of my skin in the winter rules most of them out.
I applied the soothing Dr. Jackson face oil immediately afterwards, followed by a serum.
