Overnight hand care

If like me you’re obsessed with hand creams, keep reading. Crabtree & Evelyn, which has the best hand cream in town, has an overnight hand therapy cream and I am sold.

I do have the habit of moisturing my hands before going to bed anyway and lately I have been doing with a product made exactly for that.

But Dani, how is it different from a normal hand cream, you ask? Well.. of course, the trick in on the concentration. This rich cream contains a concentrated complex of vitamins and amino acids, including arginine.

It is formulated especially to protect, by enhancing the skin’s natural barrier, maintain the natural moisture level, help skin recovery and soothe any dryness.

As any Crabtree & Evelyn hand therapy creams, it is easily and totally absorbed by the skin leaving no trace, but a long-lasting moisturisation. Applied at night, this cream works its wonder so I have been waking up with soft and nourished hands.

The classic La Source – a crisp, clean scent of refreshing aquatic notes, musk, and gentle shoreline breeze – is the version I’ve been using, but the overnight hand therapy is also available in three other amazing scents.

I’ve talked a lot about the hand therapy creams (which is always in my bag) and the amazing 60 second fix for hands (which I use about twice a week) and now the overnight hand cream is yet another Crabtree & Evelyn product that has a firm place in my life.

The overnight hand therapy costs £19 for 75ml and you can get online from the Crabtree & Evelyn website or in their ever so tempting shops!written by Dani

You know the drill, but I’ll say anyway: this post contains PR samples. This review, however, is based on my experience with the product and reflects my honest opinion on them.

Beauty treasure trove

I must start this post with the admission that I fell out of love with beauty boxes a while ago but the March Glossybox really made me see the excitement with these monthly beauty delights.
The March edition came brimming with some of my favourite brands and two full size products I truly love (and *may* even have graced the blog before!).
I have said before that their hand cream are second to none, so it is only fair that I start with the superb Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy Cream.
Of course, the formula is the amazing one we know and the Somerset Meadow fragrance is light and fresh: a sunny summer morning in green fields in a tube. And in its 25g, it is the right size for your handbag.
Then, comes the Sleek Eye & Cheek palette which I raved about before. It has everything for the flawless transition from day to night in a compact form for the makeup bag. I got probably the more party-like of the lot, slightly more tricky to use (but with a killer gold shadow and blushers).
The other three versions are much more neutral and I have the Midsummer’s Dream one and I am seeing the pan on most shades.  Amazing pigmentation and price. What’s not to love?
Now, I am a huge fan of this works. I don’t think there is a single product they do that doesn’t work for me (because, well, this works!) and I do have the full size of the versatile in transit camera close-up primer, moisturiser and mask.
It is reportedly a must have on Mrs Beckham’s travel bag so if it is good for her, well, I am in. That aside, it is a great product; a fantastic moisturising base for makeup which I use quite often, so glad to have a travel size.
Another brand I like a lot, Schwarzkopf is present in the form of the BC Bonacure Oil Miracle Brazilnut Oil Pulp Treatment, a rich hair mask to restore shine and nourishment.
To be used twice a week for 5-10 minutes for manageable, shiny hair.
Finally, a brand that is new to me (shock, horror): Oolution. The eye love is 100% natural and 65% organic.
It contains antioxidants and it is very hydrating to help banish puffiness and dark circles, morning or night! Behaves well under makeup and you just need a little bit.
Glossybox is available through monthly subscription for £10/month (+ P&P). Always five products, at least a full size one and they always bring special editions that sell out pretty fast!

A sweet shower

patisserie-de-bain-strawberry-cupcake-review-2What excites me more than cake? You guessed right: beauty products!

Patisserie de Bain has the most gorgeous smelling products around, with real delicious desserts smelling bath, shower and bdy products to indulge and relax.

patisserie-de-bain-strawberry-cupcake-review-3If like me, you are rather partial to a sweet scent, feast on their Strawberry Cupcake range, which combines the smell of strawberries and cream.

The shower créme (£3.99/200ml) is rich, gentle and lathers amazingly; skin feels clean and moisturised.

patisserie-de-bain-strawberry-cupcake-review-4The body lotion (£4.99/200ml) is silky and glides on skin, absorbs well, leaving skin soft and with the most amazing subtle scent.

patisserie-de-bain-strawberry-cupcake-review-5Who doesn’t love a bath bomb (£4.99)? Well, this one gives you a sweet explosion to tingle all your senses! It fizzles out for total relaxation!

patisserie-de-bain-strawberry-cupcake-review-6Finally, this little hand cream (£3.99/50ml), a delight to carry around in the handbag or keep by the bedside. Absorbs well and leaves hands moisturised and soft, and of course, with that fab sweet smell.

The Strawberry Cupcake range also has a cupcake soap and fancy, mini bath bombs on a delightful vintage glass  jar, hand cream pot and a soap cake slice.

patisserie-de-bain-strawberry-cupcake-review-1And they have all sorts of delights: cherry pie, lemon bon bon, sugared violet, cranberries and cream and orange crush, on top of some fab limited editions, such as the lovely créme patissiêre range I reviewed not long ago. That festive smell

crabtree-evelyn-rose-pineapple-review-1For me, Crabtree & Evelyn have the best hand creams in the market. Undisputed. When they add a festive spin to the scents, they become unbeatable.

crabtree-evelyn-rose-pineapple-review-4This season sees the rise of Rose Pineapple, a gorgeous scent that combines the classic delicate and subtle rose with the tropical, sweet zing of pineapple. It’s like something you never smelt before.

I wouldn’t need to say much more apart from the name of this scent: Festive Fig. I love figs, especially festive ones! This scent is warm, combining ripe fig, damson plum, black pepper, resinous wood and winter flowers.

crabtree-evelyn-rose-pineapple-review-3Having loved the two fragrances about, I must confess my biggest surprise was the gorgeous Spiced Earl Grey fragrance. It’s got a sweet spice scent with a hint of lemon that is totally intoxicating and soothing.

On those three fantastic scents I got to try the hand therapy, which comes as the Festive Hand Therapy Trio that at a reasonable £15, comes with one 25g cream of each scent.

crabtree-evelyn-rose-pineapple-review-2I also have the fabulous Christmas cracker, which also comes with the three seasonal hand therapy creams in a handy 10g.

Worth pointing out you can get the 100ml Hand Therapy Cream in each one of the festive scents (and the packaging is lovely!) separately, for £16.

However fabulous the hand therapy creams are, the star of my festive Crabtree & Evelyn collection has to be, doubtless, this amazing three tier candle.

crabtree-evelyn-rose-pineapple-review-5Prettily set on frosted glass rectangles and stackable, they deliver a durable punch of the fabulous festive scents to really set the mood and create that seasonal ambiance.

The Triple Scented Candle costs £45 and together burns for around 6 hours per candle. Best thing? You get it free when you spend £100. Deliveries are free on purchases over £50.

And if you think that’s all for Crabtree & Evelyn Christmas love, you’re very wrong! From home scents to foods, the selection is just wonderful – their Christmas shop is a must visit!

Hands, oh so smooth

crabtree-evelyn-hand-therapy-review-2Pretty sure I raved about how amazing the Crabtree & Evelyn hand therapy creams are (), but it’s never too much in my view.

The Pomegranate, Argan and Grapeseed Hand Therapy is, as the other hand therapy fragrances, a bliss to use.

This hand cream is conditioning and softening, containing shea butter, macadamia, pomegranate, grapeseed and argan oils for deep moisturising and soothing and myrrh to help condition cuticles. The fragrance is tart, with some subtle citrus.

crabtree-evelyn-hand-therapy-review-1The cream applies well, absorbing in seconds – no sticky hands. Because it sinks deep, its long lasting and your hands feel moisturised and protected for a long time.

I am a huge fan and pomegranate has just joined rose and avocado as one my favourite fragrances of this absolutely indispensable classic.

crabtree-evelyn-hand-therapy-review-3The Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy hand cream is available in various sizes, from the travel-friendly 25g (£6), a handbag size 50g (£10) and the bedside table essential 100g (£16) and many fabulous fragrances, including Pomegranate and some very special seasonal ones.
