Dani’s Little Book of Fashion: Wedding guest, with bonprix and Pittards England

wedding-bonprix-pittards (1 of 12)Wedding season is in full swing and with so many to attend comes the “what dress to wear” dilemma. Do I buy a new one? Do I wear an old one again? Do I run away and never look back?

bonprix has a huge selection fit for the elegant guest and the best thing is it doesn’t break the bank.wedding-bonprix-pittards (2 of 12)

I styled one of their dresses with the beautiful NYC City clutch from Pittards England and nude shoes.

The Fit & Flare navy dress is only £39.99 and is perfect for the occasion. Its long sleeves are great for the unpredictable British weather, while the light pleated skirt still gives that summer vibe.

The colour is slightly brighter than seen on the site and the sizing is generous; I am usually and 8 and their size 8 was on the very comfortable side.

The quality is pretty good, the drop waist is rather flattering and I just love the flowy, glossy skirt which contrasts with the fitted jersey bodice. Because the skirt is so delicate, I recommend wearing some support underwear, as you will get a pantyline with standard and especially lacy numbers.

The oversized leather NYC City clutch from Pittards England (£175) is of exceptional quality and will fit everything in! A luxury, versatile piece with a great finish; the beige trim goes really well with nudes, so would be lovely with a cream dress too, for example.

For the shoes, I used (and abused, once again), of my Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100. As I mentioned on my previous post, nude shoes enable the use of colour, blending to the skin and elongating the legs. A true staple for any occasion.

Again, if you are keen on colour, I think this dress would look fabulous with red shoes and a red – or even white – bag, to channel that maritime vibe.

Fascinators are usually my choice for weddings (I make my own) but this time I opted for a pretty metal headband.

wedding-bonprix-pittards (12 of 12)I decided go carry the blue theme to the eyes, choosing very neutral, matte and discreet eyeshadows to give my eyes some depth and applied a blue eyeliner, with tons of mascara and light false lashes, teamed up with red lips; I opted for something bluer – Russian Red and Diva mixed up.

I feel this ensemble is modern and elegant  and is in line with the wedding guest code – not white, not too short, not too tight, not too revealing –  basically, just use your common sense and stay classy!

This look is also great for the races, afternoon tea and luncheons, so quite a versatile ensemble!

bonprix is a French company famous for its catalogue fashion. It came to the UK in 2005 and their affordable fashion caters for sizes 6-32, which I find superb. You can check their wedding shop brimming with options.

Pittards England are British luxury leather specialists and their handbags are all handcrafted in their Yeovil, Somerset workshop.

What would you must have in your wedding guest look?
