With spring just around the corner and the prospect of showing off my pins, I welcomed this new-to-the-UK tanning brand, Bondi Sands.
Bondi Sands is Australia’s number one selling self tanning brand and has just landed in the UK, via Superdrug.
After attending a brilliant pool party for the launch and talking to the charming owner, I could not wait to try the products.
So I got home and slapped the Self Tanning Foam on.
To start with, they have an amazing black velvet mitt that feel lush against skin, and also makes for smoother application.
The foam is thick and dark coloured, which acts as an application guide. It spreads well and dries very quickly.
The packaging is simple and effective with a sturdy pump that delivers a good amount of foam.
Now, to the smell. Biscuity smell is an immediate put off on self tanning products. If that happens in the first application, I will never use it again.
And….. it did not. Bondi Sands has a subtle coconut *(yum) smell that stays with you (and in the bathroom) after application. NO biscuity whiffs.
This is my before and after. Bear in mind that, as the product colour is dark immediately after application, you will be super dark. Then you wash off and tan remains.
I am not super pale and noticed a lovely golden tan. The picture was taken after 24 hours of application and after washing it off. I am not super pale, so you won’t see THAT contrast, but I really like the colour. No orange, no streaks, no baked biscuit smell.
The foam is enriched with aloe vera and is the best selling product on the range – no surprises there, to be honest. It did last two days full one then started to fade. I’d recommend applying once a week to keep it up.
I feel golden and healthy! Overall I am very impressed. This brand is huge in Australia, and I think it will be a hit in the UK too.
It is available from Superdrug and the Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam is available now in two shades (Light Medium and Dark) and costs a (in my opinion) extremely good value price of £14.99 for 200 ml.
There are also many more product on the Bondi Sands range, including self tanning lotions and creams, as well as everyday moisturising tanning products.
This post contains PR samples. This review, however, is based on my experience with the product and reflects my honest opinion on them.
