Red soles… for your lips. Louboutin lipstick is coming

Oooh, Loubi… oooh…

It looks like some fabulous Louboutin Lipsticks in matte red have been peppered around the world. With the successful launch of the nail polishes, no wonder Mr. Louboutin would venture into more beauty, after all, his works are beauty itself (yes, yes, I am a fan).

I picked it up on the Brazilian edition of Glamour Magazine, which used beautiful Belgian writer Sofie Valkiers’ images as the proof that it is coming.

The packaging, as for the nail polish, is nothing short of stunning – and there seem to be different package designs. It looks like a fierce pendant and asks the “Is it a lipstick? Is it a pendant?”. Charming.

I haven’t really seen it covered in the British media, I googled it incessantly (especially because I want to get it, of course), and nothing so far. Is this real? Some people are even saying it’s fake! Although I wouldn’t discard the possibility, I want to believe it it not… Please no!!! I must have it!

Some say it will come in September, some say October and I read a whopping  number of shades, from 36 to 38; that’s an awful lot of colours, I must say. Apparently, inspired by Queen Nefertiti. I read it would cost €80.

Is is true? Is it not? I don’t know what to think. I will keep my eyes wide open but certainly not my lips sealed. As soon as I find out more, I will update this post.

In the meantime, you can check my Louboutin Rouge nail polish post and also read about a talk I attended with the man himself.

UPDATE 05/08 09:43: Some media outlets reported on it and pulled out the article. The plot thickens!

UPDATE 05/08 10:32: Sali Hughes is at the launch. It’s happening!!! So exciting!

UPDATE 06/08 12:12: They will be on sale in the UK for £60 (ouch!) from September (hello, birthday!) in Silky Satin, Velvet Matte and Sheer Voile finishes.
