A GOSH a day: matte lipsticks for the whole week

gosh_aw15_velvet_touch_lipstick - 2 GOSH always delivers when it comes to lips. Every season. And for AW15, it is no different.

They are bringing out the love Velvet Touch Matt, which has eight fabulous matte shades, from nudes to rich plums, to update our lips in the new season.

So, yes, one for each day of the week plus a bonus round!

The consistency is on the dry side, as expected from matte lipsticks, but not overly; it applies quite well and pigmentation is great.

They are comfortable on the lips, not too drying, but it always worth keeping your lips in great shape, I wrote a post a while ago on tips for applying red lipstick plus lip care.

Durability wise, it is ace. Even without my must have Lipcote, it lasts rather well.

gosh_aw15_velvet_touch_lipstick - 5I’ve been a fan of Velvet Touch lipsticks for a while, and have a few of the creamy ones with lustrous, but not shiny, finish which I use a lot. This lot is a great addition to the family.

The colours are are nod to the new season colours seen in the catwalks – winter pinks, bohemian nudes and also statement lips, of course, which for me are always in.

gosh_aw15_velvet_touch_lipstick - 4These lipstick contain beeswax, natural carnauba and candelilla waxes and hyaluronic acid, to keep lips smooth and hydrated, so don’t worry about that super dry feeling matte lipsticks are often associated with.

On top of that the hyaluronic acid acts to fill the deep wrinkles; they are dry microspheres that fill up with the skin’s moisture, plumping them up, so helping with lipstick bleeding, while also retaining that moisture. Clever, no?

gosh velvet touch matte lipsticks - somanylovelythings My favourite? Hard to pick. I am obviously in love with the Classic Red (anything classic red will get the top spot really), Rose is a beautiful delicate pink, and the Coral is vibrant but not too bright, perfect to cheer up dark winter days.

Raspberry is a beautiful deep pink and Plum is fabulous for a statement winter lip, as is Cherry with its deeper red hue.

Antique is a great nude, wih just the right amount of brown for me. Sadly, Baby Lips is not really my shade, I think it would be a good nude for pinkier and/or lighter skin tones.

And the price? Only £5.99. A bargain! At that price you can afford to pick up a couple. Also look out for promotions, as Superdrug is aways running them across beauty.

You can get the gorgeous GOSH Velvet Touch Matt Lipsticks exclusively at Superdrug.
