Most of us know too well the small desk to dance floor struggle.For that reason, I welcome products that make my life easier when turning from office worker into night out vixen, and that’s exactly what the Sleek eyes and cheek palette does for me.
The eye colours are very neutral (which is the thing for SS16), but there is a sparkly dark earthy, sparkling Marsala tone that will transform those day eyes into disco magnificence.
Admittedly, the brushes are not amazing, they do the job ok but I prefer taking my MAC handbag sized ones.The blusher is matte and peachy, which suits a variety of skin tones (personally, my fave shade of blusher) and it also comes a sparkling version, quite close in colour and sheen to an expensive best-seller.
Overall, a great purchase, purse friendly in many ways: it’s compact and multitasking, and costs only £10.

Lipgloss hasn’t been a thing for me in a long time.
The classic Lancôme Juicy Tubes were an integral part of discovering makeup for me, but I felt I grew out of them, in a way.
Start with the packing, a cute bullet that keeps a surprise: a ridiculously soft sponge applicator in a conical shape, which delivers the right amount of product and helps contour the lips.
I tried Apricute and Cherry Symphony and the pigmentation is very decent: a somewhat buildable tint (which is said to get more intense the more you shake the bullet) with a lovely sheen that is in no way sticky. My hair hasn’t caught once!
So good tat even my little forest friend wanted a piece of it – I had to be pretty nifty in removing them from the tray! 😀
They come in an amazing 14 shades, including the limited edition Mint to Be, cost £18 each and can be purchased online and at retailers nationwide.
Every season gosh does not fail to impress. They always bring something out that stays with me until their next launch – and beyond.
Decidedly neutral, and very matte, this baby is all you need to keep your eyes in check. And its size means it’s handbag-friendly and the day-to-night transition is easy-peasy!
My second favourite is the Lumi Drops. A lovely highlighter with a tint, this light liquid formula will apply well and stay.
One that is already available (all the others launch in March), the Primer+ Illuminating Skin Perfector is really great.
Their big launch are the lip oils. Rather similar to the Clarins ones, these are the first “drugstore” version of the product. I am not big on lip gloss, but these are not too sticky and offer good moisturisation to lips!
Of course, I couldn’t leave the lipsticks behind. I have a mini arsenal of GOSH lipsticks at home, which come in to play pretty much every week.
Finally, the eyeshadow pencils. Oh, how I love those. I do not joke when I say my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Don’t have that much on them. I have the metallic ones, from a few season ago and this time they brought them out in matte.
Oh, the feeling to be sent something brand new, yet to be launched, that not many people have seen, just like you were let in to a secret….
It has a medium creaminess formula – not too dry, not too wet. It’s super black and glossy.
Not too long ago I mentioned Sleek was the very first red lipstick I ever owned, and that started a love affair that spanned years.
Apart from the more luxurious packaging with the colour at the bottom, this £5.49 gem packs a punch. It’s super pigmented and hydrating, with Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Coconut Oil, at the same time, while offering a very decent durability!
My favourite, Flaunt It, is a vibrant orange; Night Spot is a rich pinkier red (and I love a red lipstick!); Guest List is a bright coral; Backstage, a warm coral pink; Reserved, a candy pink and Private Booth a great nude with some pink in it, and not grey and dull as most, so suitable for my skin tone!
There is something about Benefit I canto quite gauge. I love their packaging, adore the name and the concept behind their products, see thousands of people who swear by them but nothing I tried seemed to quite work for me.
The formula is gel, in a watery brown colour, which is great and can be used on its own for a lighter, feathery and super defined look.

Here I am again going on about how amazing Charlotte Tilbury makeup is.
The formula is a great glossy black and is not too wet, which is great for application control.
I am totally sold. Of course, it carries a premium-ish price tag, but worth every penny.
Since I did my Charlotte Tilbury Rebel look, with John Lewis, I cannot stop wearing the makeup products, separately. I don’t think a day has gone by without me using at least one.
I run away from eyeshadow pencils at the best of times; in fact, I believe there is only another brand that will work for me.
This pencil glides amazingly and blends beautifully. I usually draw the crease, from the Middle of the eyes and use a fluffy brush to smoke it.
Oh how a love a good highlighter. I use it every day; subtle for work and amped up for going out. Regardless of its intensity, it is always present.
The colour is great, it is a warm golden beige, with just the right amount of shimmer, a bit different from anything I tried before, which are usually peachy, pinky or white-ish/yellow gold highlighters.
