When I am not even close of having enough of the Mojitos, Julian Hakes comes up with these exquisite beauties to mark the release of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Taking inspiration from “The Black Widow” character, these shoes are quite distinct from the Mojitos; although you can clearly see they are a Hakes’ work of art. It has a star-shaped heel. YES. STAR SHAPED. Love it.

The star heel is milled from a solid piece of aluminium using a high frequency electric process, giving the heel strength and lightness. I really like the different textures (which can be seen on the Black Widow’s catsuit) and the tough sole.

The designer imagines Natasha Romanova, the Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson), wearing the shoes “undercover but then at a moment’s notice she could use them as an effective weapon.”. Indeed!

This is not Julian’s first collaboration with Marvel; the previous ones, with a Thor: The Dark World and an Iron Man 3 edition Mojitos, were a huge success.

Being a big fan of Julian Hakes, I just love to see something quite different – although the Mojitos will ALWAYS have a place in my heart!
