The soufflé is luxurious moisturising and soothing; it applies well and sinks quickly, leaving no stickiness behind. It tops up the shower gel scent, without being too overpowering. Skin feels quite velvety after use.

patisserie-de-bain-creme-patissiere-review-2If you don’t know Patisserie de Bain, they are a lovely brand with products made in the UK.

All over tan – Got your Back!

bronzie-tanning-mitt-4Tanning. I love looking bronzed; it makes me feel better. In fact, we all know that looking tanned masks the imperfections, so our bodies look better.

However, we all suffer from the back tanning problem: how to get even tan? Ask a friend? When I had a love in boyfriend the poor thing would, most of the time begrudgingly, apply tan on my back. What about now?

Fear not, Bronzie is here to save us all!

bronzie-tanning-mitt-1Bronzie Got Your Back is a 3 in 1 back and body mitt that not only solves the back tanning problem but also makes tan application much faster.

It is basically 2 luxury, velvety, soft and padded tanning mitts with a protective film on the inside, linked by the same material.

bronzie-tanning-mitt-3You can apply your favourite tanning product whenever is needed, anywhere on the mitt. The middle part is perfect for reaching across the whole back and back of the legs, like a huge tanned hug.

And of course, you have two mitts, one of each end of the band, to apply all over the body, so no need to change hands.

I have to say, tanning is way quicker and efficient since Bronzie entered my life.

And I must add: now that not only is the sun gone, but also gone is the hope of tanning in this country until next year (brrr, chilly wind), my Bronzie is going to get more frequent outings!

You can buy the Bronzie Got Your Back from their website, and it costs £14.99.

You’re invited to experience love in a bottle

michael-buble-by-invitation-perfume-2A scented love letter. That’s how the new Michael Bublé fragrance, By Invitation, is described.

I must admit I was rather sceptical, as I usually am of celebrity fragrances, but will say outright: I was very pleasantly surprised.

michael-buble-by-invitation-perfume-4The bottle, a lovely glass circle suspended within a golden ring, with the top being a metal version of an atomiser, is just very elegant and looks amazing on the dressing table. However, I think if it was a real atomiser, it would give this perfume the luxury edge.

Packaging is also clever in the sense it hasn’t got his name all over the bottle; only his initials on the inside of the metal ring. Classy.

michael-buble-by-invitation-perfume-1Bublé, a self confessed hopeless romantic, is through his perfume, inviting his female fans to experience “love in a bottle”, he says.

That’s a huge claim Michael, but I have to say I can feel the lovable warmth of this floral oriental fragrance.

It has top notes of red fruits and bergamot, while lily of the valley, wild jasmine and spicy inflections of peony are at its heart, on a base of sandalwood-musk and vanillas.

For me, it hits the spot as a deep, elegant and sensual scent, the way I like my perfumes to be. It has the initial allure, it develops well on the skin and it does stick.

michael-buble-by-invitation-perfume-3Of course, Mr. Bublé is no perfumer and renowned French perfumier Karine Dubreil-Sereni is the expert behind it.

Karine says that there were no restriction to use the finest ingredients to create this dream perfume of his imagination; how he would like a woman to smell.

And the price, in my opinion is excellent for such a quality fragrance. By Invitation by Michael Bublé costs £55, £39 and £29 (100, 50 and 30ml respectively).

There’s also a Luxury Body Lotion (£14, 150ml) and a Shower Gel (£12, 150ml).

It can be purchased from michaelbubleperfume.com and from the 11 September you can get it from The Perfume Shop.

Saturday relaxing rituals

dove-nourishing-care-oil-review - 1Ah, Saturday morning… what a bliss. Well, maybe not when you woke up with a heavy head from the night before, but still, he best time to wash away the week’s stresses and embark on a relaxation ritual.

And the new Dove nourishing care shower oil is the perfect product for that. I put a white fluffy robe on, put a face mask on, read a magazine while sipping some coffee.

There is always a candle or diffuser somewhere in the house!

dove-nourishing-care-oil-review - 2Using some sugar or a polish, I give my body a good scrub to get rid of dead cells, stimulate circulation and soften the skin. If I’m feeling it, I sometimes dry body brush before.

I then shower, first removing the face mask. I was never a bath person as I have low blood pressure and it tends to plummet really quickly in the bath. A good shower washes away the physical dirty, but it is also an opportunity to clear the mind.

dove-nourishing-care-oil-review - 3The shower oil contains Moroccan argan oil and creates a gentle lather when in contact with water, cleansing and nourishing the skin, without stripping the protective barrier.

The oil is luscious, non-stick and smells amazing. Skin feels soft and moisturised. Sugar can be mixed with the shower oil to give skin a gentle exfoliation too.

dove-nourishing-care-oil-review - 4After my shower, I don’t need to moisturise, but every three days I use the Dove Dermaspa Summer Revived, a tanning moisturiser that keeps the glow going.

I then moisturise my face; most of the times, if I am staying at home, I will put on a great facial oil such as dermalogica’s phyto replenish oil, Skin & Tonic Naked Beauty or Dr. Jackson’s.

And relax!

The Dove nourishing care & oil range also contains a body wash, which has a blend of Moroccan argan oil beads for that extra nourishment, and a classic beauty cream bar with added moisturisation from argan oil. Always with 1/4 moisturising cream!

The Dove nourishing shower oil costs £4 (RRP), the nourishing care & oil body wash, £2.50 (RRP) and the cream oil soap bar under £1.

My love affair with body oils

liz-earle-superskin-dry-oil-body-review - 1 My love for oils is no news: hair, body, cuticle, skin… I’m all over it; or better, it’s all over me.

Liz Earle has added a little gem to their Superskin range: the Superskin Dry Oil for body.

As any product in the Superskin range, the Dry Oil has the botanical blend of cranberry seed oil, rich in omegas 3, 6 and 9, borage, a rich source of GLA, which helps lock moisture and rosehip seed oil, which contains high levels of fatty acids, plus alaria esculenta, a sea algae which helps firm and revitalise skin.

All botanical ingredients are 100% naturally derived.

It comes in a handy spray bottle, the scent is lovely and it does feel amazing on the skin. The oil is luscious and absorbs really quickly. Skin is left soft, smooth and supple.

liz-earle-superskin-dry-oil-body-review - 2What really makes this a bit different and a welcome addition to my routine is that all of my body oils are post shower, to be used on damp skin.

This is great to put on before bed; it dries quickly and the lovely smell is quite soothing to send you off to sleep.

For the full treatment,  use with the Superskin Treatment Body Oil, which is a richer product.

The new Liz Earle Superskin Dry Oil for body launches in October and it costs £35 together with the Treatment Oil.

In the meantime, you can find explore the Superskin range on the Liz Earle website.

Golden hair for the holidays

jolen-creme-bleach-original-review - 1Little details in our beauty regimes make all the difference, and Jolen is one of this products that give that almost imperceptible touch that really refines the look.

I have very fine, but abundant hair in my arms and being dark haired means my little hairs are too. I wouldn’t go as far as to say they bother me, but they show.

Well, Jolen Creme Bleach to the rescue.

jolen-creme-bleach-original-review - 2To celebrate its 50th anniversary, classic Jolen has revamped its packaging and also made the bleaching kit easier to use, adding a handy and tiny mixing bowl to the box.

Just wash the area with soap and water, add the cream to the mark on the bowl, one lid of the accelerator powder and mix well with the spatula provided.

I did a patch test on the inside of my arms and left for a full 10 minutes before proceeding to do the whole arm.

jolen-creme-bleach-original-review - 3To make application in larger areas easier, it also comes with a rectangular larger spatula, which I used to do my forearms.

Easy to apply, it only takes 10 minutes to work its magic – that time was enough for mine to bleach completely, but it might take a bit longer, or less, of some.

It’s practically smell free and you barely feel it on the skin; there was a tiny bit of tingle in some points, but nothing uncomfortable.

Hairs were discoloured easily and quickly, no fuss, no mess.

jolen-creme-bleach-original-review - 4 (1)Jolen Creme Bleach is suitable for the whole body, including the face: brows, sideburns, the dreaded moustache. Jolen has got your back!

This was the first time I used it and now I think how I lived without it for so long. For the beach, it’s particularly nice as the tan shows through much more.

Have to say, I am adopting as a regular into my regime. Love it!

The Jolen Creme Bleach Original kit costs around £4 for 30ml and can be purchased from major retailers nationwide.

Pluck them good!

the-vintage-cosmetic-company-rose-gold-slanted-tweezers-review - 1As a blogger, I felt as a failure for not being a huge fan of all things rose gold. Let’s just say that in the recent months it grew on me, and I blame my Coach watch for that.

No surprise I was ecstatic to meet with the lovely guys from The Vintage Cosmetic Company for the launch of a new addition to their pretty rose gold tools range: the slanted tweezers.

the-vintage-cosmetic-company-rose-gold-slanted-tweezers-review - 3I’m a big plucker as I cannot stand hair, so this baby was a welcome addition.

Obviously they look pretty, with the engraved brand and slightly brushed stainless steel, but don’t be fooled by the shiny pink: these tweezers are very sturdy, easy to hold and with a fab grip on hair, removing from the root and not breaking them.

the-vintage-cosmetic-company-rose-gold-slanted-tweezers-review - 4For perfect plucking, always do it in the direction of hair, and if you do after showering, when pores are dilated, it is easier to remove.

The slant size is great for general plucking, and if you flip to use the high side, you get great precision.

the-vintage-cosmetic-company-rose-gold-slanted-tweezers-review - 2They are also great to apply eyelashes (The Vintage Cosmetic Company has some fab ones and I’m a fan) and the round tip is also handy to gently press them in place.

The tweezers were part of last month’s Pink Parcel‘s box of treats. Pretty and useful – just my kind of thing.

You can get The Vintage Cosmetic Company Slanted Tweezers from their website and retailers nationwide, such as Boots, and they costs £8.

That monthly thing

pink-parcel-review - 2Girls don’t really talk about our periods a lot. Not that it is the kind of thing that comes up in conversation all the time, but many tend to avoid any mention.

Truth is, it is (almost) always there. There is the discomfort, the PMS, the tenderness, the bloating, swelling, cramps… some have it much worst than others, but for most of us, it just doesn’t go unnoticed.

I am quite sensitive in my privates (sorry, over sharing), so I always keep an eye on it; I get irritation, thrush and UTI quite often if I don’t look after myself properly; that include trying to control the stresses of daily life, which do not help the cause.

That’s why I welcomed the Pink Parcel this month, my first since coming off the pill for a very long time. I was expecting it to be a nightmare, which it wasn’t, but this monthly useful treat really made it a bit better.

The Pink Parcel comes with all your tampon and pads needs – when signing up, you can pick your brand so you stick with what you like, and you can mix pads and tampons, to suit your taste. They send you enough for a normal 3-4 period so you don’t have to worry.

They have three shipping dates in the month, so you can pick the one closer to your time. Personally, I think getting it 3-5 days before my period is the best, so I can reach out for treats during the dreaded PMS.

The box comes split in neat (I love that) “sections” if you wish; “for now”, a fabric pouch, comes with pads and tampons for every day, to go in the handbag; “for later”, more pads and tampons to keep and replenish that handy little bag, “for down there”, some soothing and/or cleansing product (mine came with one of my faves Femfresh wipes) and “for you” comes packed with treats.

pink-parcel-review - 10I was very impressed with the amount of pads and tampons, as well as the “for you” treat box: something sweet, but not too much, some relaxing items, like the Badger Sleep Balm and tea plus beauty treats including favourite brands like Simple and lottie London, and some new to discover, like True Brit nail polish.

Every month, you can count on the box to come with tampons (your selected brand and something new to try), pads, tea, something sweet and beauty products.

Beauty boxes for me are not that appealing, but this is actually useful as  it comes in the right time, giving me exactly what I need!

You can subscribe to your Pink Parcel via their website, the first one costs only £6.99 including P&P, and the following one, £10.50, P&P also included!

How it feels to be golden-Kissed by Mii

img_1084Oh how I love being tanned. For me, tanned is a natural state as a Brazilian, but since moving to London my skin has turned a colour I still don’t recognise as mine.

I’ve been using self tan for a while now, but have rarely had a spray tan.
Only my second ever, Kissed by Mii was a lovely experience.

The whole Kissed by Mii range – professional and at home – is enriched with marine mineral extracts. The nourishing benefits of coral seaweed and coastal flowers replenish the skin’s natural minerals to leave it soft, helping the tan develop evenly.

At the fabulous London ME set up, where I was introduced to the brand – not only the professional spray tan, but also their lovely and extensive makeup range and home tanning products – just added to the experience.

img_1083My tan-master, the lovely Shelley, explained every step, made me feel super comfortable in my Mii gown and turban, and selected the right shade for me, after consulting.

The process was quick, the tan dried quickly and the guide colour was fabulous.

img_1082Getting that tan was very welcome, as I was about to embark to Brasil on holiday, so the prospect of not glowing in the dark was exciting.

I have to admit that not being able to shower before bed was a bit unnerving for me, but I soldiered on.

img_1088In the morning, when I washed it off, the colour left was close to the guide, obviously lighter and more natural, an even sun-kissed golden perfect for my skin tone.

Smell wise, I have to admit I did catch a sniff from time to time – I’m quite sensitive about that, but overall it didn’t bother me too much.

img_1092Arriving in Brasil, the sun sadly disappeared within two days for a whole five, but my Mii tan stood in for it, until its return.

To be Kissed by Mii and look fab, check their website to find your nearest salon or professional offering the tanning service.

They also have the fabulous Kissed by Mii home tan range that includes all preparation os post-care, as well as amazing exfoliating wet wipes, well worth checking and coming to the blog soon!
