What I’ve been wearing – 15/06/14

The settling of the new season brings about so much inspiration! All the bits I have been buying for months and have been unable to wear are finally starting to creep out of my closet and make it to the streets – and the blog!

Here are the latest outfits:

Dove Invisible Dry invites us to be colour confident

dove invisible dry deodorant

Dove is saying something I notice a lot – I am usually one of the few women strolling in the streets abusing (yes, abusing) colour. Little do we know that wearing colours like red, hot pink or purple can boost our confidence a bit (mine, certainly!).

Mad Hatter Tea at the Sanderson

mad hatter tea - sanderson london - somanylovelythings

Finally, after much talk, I made it to the Sanderson’s Mad Hatter Tea. I had wanted to go for a long time – no secret I am a huge fan of the hotel, the long bar, the lips sofa (really, just the lips sofa, I freaking love it), but I wanted to have this much appealing themed afternoon tea.

What I’ve been wearing – 03/06/14

I’ve been trying so hard to be summery and wearing floaty skirts whenever I can. The weather has been mild, but not glorious enough to go all out…

Keep hoping! This outfit selection contains a mix of  “I wish I could wear this without tights” and “I am preparing myself for summer” outfits.

Maleficent everything: Jewellery

Ooooh, the film is not even out but Maleficent is the gift that keeps on giving (especially for me, I’ve been a fan since she scared the pants out of me in the 80’s Sleeping Beauty VHS, yep, I’m that old) and producing the most amazing stuff for us to see, use or simply lust after.

The Disney collaborations seem never-ending and the latest for this movie is jewellery: dark, gorgeous and wearable by Crow’s Nest Jewels, the same folks responsible for a Sleeping Beauty collection.

My earliest beauty memories

dani dutra - somanylovelythingsOne of these days I was talking to people how I became so obsessed with makeup, style and shoes so I started thinking and went back to my childhood, when I used to smash my aunt’s Ciane’s eyeshadow palettes (sorry auntie) and smear my aunt’s Tiana’s lipsticks on my face, while they weren’t around.

The technique was the same: wait until they were distracted chatting with family or going over their daily and go over their dressing tables and pounce, in the dark, getting hold of anything I could, quickly.

Costume making in stars and stripes

american-theme costume - somanylovelythings

Those who know me can confirm I am not one to pass the opportunity to dress up. I LOVE dressing up. When I do it, I go all out; no point in being half-hearted, right?

What I’ve been wearing – 27/04/2014

It’s been a while. Obviously,  I haven’t been walking around naked; a mix of lack of time to photograph, uninspiring cold days where I couldn’t be bothered and that emotional problem solving kinda got in the way.

My wardrobe is starting to get packed with some lovely spring goods, but so far the legs haven’t seen the daylight in London. Hurry, while I still have a tan!
