As a lover of all colours on my nails, I am not one to say there are summer and winter colours, but let’s agree that some colours for better in certain season.
And taking about fitting, essie has launched their beautiful Autumn 16 collection, inspired by the beauties and energy of Tokyo and its changing autumnal landscapes.
Six extremely wearable shades (it’s not always that a full collection feels like that to me) will take you through the new season.
I feel the gorgeous stony blue Udon Know Me and pretty Go Go Geisha are the perfect transitional colours, being a more sober shade of pastel. And boy, do I love a winter pastel!
They are gorgeous alone or mixed. Follow that up in your season timeline with a shade I fell in love with: Now and Zen, the perfect safe grey.
Now, all stop for the hero shade of the collection, Kimono-Over, a mesmerising deep damson plum shade, super dark and delicious.
On the warmer spectrum, a classic berry shade, quite vivacious, Maki Me Happy and the biggest surprise for me, Playing Koi, an almost vibrant bold orange rust colour, which looks amazing on my nails.
Essie’s colour director Rebecca Minkoff says that she wanted the collection to be a snapshot of her experience in a beautiful city at one of her favourite times of the year. I think she succeeded!
The essie Autumn 16 collection is now available at Superdrug and Boots (see ted shops and online) until late October (yes, it’s limited!) and each bottle costs £7.99 (RRP).
As a beauty lover, I am looking out for the best for my skin. And organic is proven to be better for the skin, and the environment, so I was really happy to get involved with the UK’s leading organic certifier, Soil Association, to promote their “Look for the Logo” campaign, as part of Organic Beauty Week, starting on the 19th September.

In modern society we many times concentrate on the physical and end up forgetting about our minds.
The Inner Strength Skin Recovery Moisturiser is a protective moisturiser that calms an soothes, helps build the skin protective barrier and helps restore the skin healthy aspect.
Skin, as well as the mind, feels revitalised. It’s moisturising, plumping, strengthening and soothing.
Yet another product on my new favourite skincare/makeup hybrid category, anything that promises me exceptional coverage, as well as care for problem skin deserves at least a good go, given my skin history.
It’s oil free, suitable for sensitive skin and has salicylic acid and eperulin to help combat acne, fight irritation and pigmentation scars.

My love for oils is no news: hair, body, cuticle, skin… I’m all over it; or better, it’s all over me.
What really makes this a bit different and a welcome addition to my routine is that all of my body oils are post shower, to be used on damp skin.
Mentioned many times before, but always worth reiterating: every season, GOSH launches something that stays it me until the next season. Fact.
I’ll start with my favourite product in the collection, the Overnight Primer Oil Essence. It won my heart just for being an oil. However, it is an addition to the massive selection of primers that GOSH offers.

Moving on from skin, I have to talk about the Giant Pro Liner. This chubby eyeliner might seem impractical, but it’s a blessing for thicker lines – the way I like mine. The tip is just thin enough o produce a decent flick.
More on eyes, the Lash Sculpting Fibre Mascara contains fibres in its formula that attach to the lashes, offering super volume and length.
What about brows? Covered! Also with fibres, the Brow sculpting Fibre Gel is a all-in-one brow product, offering colour, filling, setting and boosting.
Of course, their superb Velvet Touch lipstick range gets some autumnal matt additions: Cinnamon, Cranberry, Grape and Purple.
You know when you are veeeeeery tired and your eyes barely open? I am guilty as charged of now having enough sleep, staying late on school nights and maybe having the odd cocktail when I should really be in bed.
Usually, I just line my lower waterline, but you can do the upper too for extra openness. And it works a treat.
Eyeshadow base, highlighter, waterliner, concealer…. the soft formula, enriched with natural extracts will ave you covered.
In all honesty, I just don’t use them only when I need to hide the night before, but every time I am focussing on eyes, especially if I have a dark smokey on.
My brow obsession is never ending. Being one of the lucky ones to get their brows back after the over plucking disaster of the 90s, I now cultivate them in their natural fullness and just love it.

The formula is good, although maybe slightly dry so needs picking up several times from the bottle for a flick.
Now, let’s talk about the bendable wand. I think the brush is lovely and extremely precise. The fact it bends can help; it is more ergonomic and intuitive when bent; you can get the brush closer to the roots and corners.
