Review: Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin foundation

maybelline superstay better skin foundation review

A good base is the key to good makeup, so I am quite fussy when it comes to foundation. Recently, as part of their SuperStay range, Maybelline New York has launched Better Skin, a foundations claiming to improve the appearance of dull, blotchy and uneven skin.

So, I put it to the test. Better Skin contains Actyl C, zinc, provitamin B5, magnesium, copper, flex technology (which adapts to skin movement, being tightness-preventing), glycerine (attracts moisture and makes skin look hydrated and radiant) and SPF 20, which is great to see in makeup.

Review: Derma Forte ScarMed from Farmaline

farmalineOh, we all love French pharmacy products, no? Oui, we do! So Farmaline lends a helping hand on getting those brands over to your doorstep.

Their staples are hard to find French skincare and beauty products – they have an awful lot of them, together a very comprehensive selection of European brands. I got Scarmed, a silicon scar cream from Derma Forte, which is actually a Dutch company.

Review: B.Defined Eyebrow Kit

b. defined eyebrow kit

No secret that since I first filled my eyebrows, I realised I would never fail to do so (after the initial shock of seeing them filled, that is).

I have a few star products that have helped me keep them in check, but since discovering the B. Makeup B. Defined Eyebrow Kit, I haven’t looked back.

My earliest beauty memories

dani dutra - somanylovelythingsOne of these days I was talking to people how I became so obsessed with makeup, style and shoes so I started thinking and went back to my childhood, when I used to smash my aunt’s Ciane’s eyeshadow palettes (sorry auntie) and smear my aunt’s Tiana’s lipsticks on my face, while they weren’t around.

Product review: GOSH Forever Eye shadow stick

gosh forever eye shadow

In all fairness, I have always dismissed creamy eyeshadows. And not because I don’t like them, but because they melt like butter on my lids – and worst of all – sit on the crease creating a very unflattering line of sticky darkness.

When I tried the GOSH Forever Eye Shadow, I thought the same was going to happen, but for my surprise, they stuck in there. I think I am converted!

Product review: B. Rescued Energising Balm

b. rescued energising balm

Let’s get one thing straight: I’ve never been a great fan of anything that is called a balm. I blame that on my beauty pet hate: the BB creams.

So along came the B. Rescued Energising Balm – to break my skepticism – I mainly tried as it has “energised” on the name, and let’s face it, most mornings I need some energy. And I was pleasantly surprised.

gosh prime n' set

GOSH Cosmetics has come up with some crackers this season, and the Prime ‘n Set Primer and Mattifying Powder is one of them. As my main beauty tip is prep the skin, I love all things primer. However, I had never used a powder primer.
