118118 Beauty Pass Nail Bar at Westfield
118118 Beauty is a pass that offers you discounts on beauty treatments around London – I’ve had mine since they started, so decided to pay them a visit at their nail bar at Westfield Stratford.
They are offering free manicures (with the lovely Morgan Taylor nail polishes – really fantastic colours!) to all who subscribe to the pass – it costs £29.99 for the whole year and you get a trial month for free!
With the card, you can get a fantastic 50% discount on hair, face, body and nail treatments in affiliated salons across London – at the moment, there are around 1,000 and the number keeps growing.
Nails of the week: black and pastels with L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Les Blancs
After I attended the lovely L’Oréal event to launch the new SS14 Color Riche nail polishes Les Blancs and Topcoats I came home with the amazing polishes, and could not wait to use them! Without wasting any time, I thought about something nice to make justice to the lovely Les Blancs pretty spring shades.
Nails of the week: silver with pink dots
When I remember a style or design, I usually go crazy about it – and that is what happened when I re-discovered my dotting tools!
Nails of the week: gun metal with black dot
Knowing I had a nail event coming up and I was bound to get a fresh manicure, I decided to go for something unusually minimalist.
This week I picked this pretty metallic golden truffle from Dielle called Metallic Dignity, which can look quite gun metal with a golden sheen, as well as some sparkly green and red particles!
NEW: L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Les Blancs nail polishes and topcoats
L’Oréal has been at it again and is bringing very exciting Color Riche nail polishes to grace our talons for Spring/Summer 2014: Les Blancs and Topcoats. Now, that is something to really look forward to.
The Les Blancs collection is a very pretty line of four pastel shades: the deliciously green Pistachio Drage, girly peachy-pink Peach Neglige, powdery lilac Nouvelle Vague and citrussy yellow Lemon Meringue. They are very delicate and almost white – with just a drop of colour; in fact similar base colours from last year’s SS collection, Neon Pop, but diluted to almost white (or, the other way round, dropped into white!)
Nails of the week: red and gold marble
Well, we all know I cannot get enough of a good old easy marble – it is up there with gradients and leopard spots – so here is another one.
In reality, this was to satiate my need for red talons – and being one not able to have just plain nails, something had to be embellish it… I give you gold! Now, that’s an embellishment!
Nails of the week: Dotty coral and grey with new Liz Earle Awakening and Moonlight nail polishes
Sometimes I forget about my dotting tools, and when they come out, they do so in full force!
I decided to use the new shades from the Liz Earle Spring/Summer collection launching in March.
Awakening is a pretty solid coral and Moonlight a lovely light grey. I couldn’t decide which one to try first so I decided to use both together!
Nails of the week: green leopard
If I could I would have either leopard print or gradient nails all the time. But that would be too boring for the blog, so I try to squeeze them in from time to time…
And this is the green turn. I “recycled” my new year’s eve manicure, as I didn’t have time to do anything more elaborate for the night, I just painted it with the gorgeous JN Beauty green 036.
Nails of the week: Essie “For the Twill of it”
This polish was picked up at Olympia Beauty 2013 (that’s how slow I am getting through stuff – so much!) – no surprise I was attracted to it, given my undying love of duo chrome nail polishes.
“For the Twill of it” is a beautiful metallic olive green which shifts to metallic mauve. Sometimes, it can look a bit gunmetal grey.
Application was great – funnily enough, this is my first Essie polish (weird, I know, just realised it when applying it!). The brush is a good size, the polish applies well and there are no brush strokes. it also dries quickly.
Durability is also great, went through my usual seven days with looking fantastic.
