I always liked Mary Jane shoes, but, amazingly, have none. Being a perennial fan of that geek, or librarian chic look, I don’t quite understand why they are not part of my life.
So, let’s spare a thought for this style. This week obsession is… Mary Jane shoes.
Fringes have been with us for a while, and I always had a little penchant for them.
Came across this lovely Topshop pair over the weekend and I am slightly obsessing about it.
The bra – often an outfit’s unsung hero – has been under fire recently.
Turns out that our always supporting friend could be not that supporting after all. A French study shows some evidence that bras are actually sagging our breasts more! Shock, horror.
Professor Jean-Denis Rouillon from the University of Franche-Comté says that his studies, involving of 330 women between the ages of 18-35 over the last 17 years, show that wearing the garment could actually make the nipples drop 7mm more per year (!!!) than if not wearing it.
Apparently breasts will not develop support tissue when a bra is worn, thus sagging quicker. On top of that, some of the participants also said their posture was improved and they were breathing better.
Although he found evidence that bras don’t help keep our breasts perky, Professor Rouillon said he would not advise straight away that we all go bra-less.
I am not sure how I feel about this one; I certainly welcome removing that restriction, but I don’t know if I could adopt it 24×7.

Yes, I am starting another series type post on the blog. I thought “Friday Fixation” was quite apt as I, more often than not, obsess with things. I fall in and out of love with stuff on a daily basis, so I decided to share them with you.
Today’s fixation is *drumroll*….
Now that I am posting the Dani’s Little Book of Fashion articles, I am limiting my “what I am wearing” posts to one a month.
The posts differ a bit in the sense the book of fashion is one particular look, taking trends or occasions and breaking it down in wearable chunks.
What I’m wearing brings my daily ensembles – what I wear to work and to events. Instead of the sporadic round-up of outfits, I will be sharing a selection of my favourites of the month to provide a bit of an insight on my style and hopefully a little bit of inspiration.
I love this flowery suit from Matalan. It’s a bit sports luxe and the flowers make it perfect for the season – it looks great in the office too. It is gorgeous and the price is fab – the jacket is £20 and the sports trousers £15. I teamed with a nude colour vest top from New Look, nude court shoes from Christian Louboutin, necklace from Primark and rings from Forever 21, H&M and Primark.
Wedding season is in full swing and with so many to attend comes the “what dress to wear” dilemma. Do I buy a new one? Do I wear an old one again? Do I run away and never look back?
